October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are plenty of activities to show your support in the fight against breast cancer. Whether you are a runner, a walker, a volunteer, an activist, or want to join the cause, there are numerous ways to get involved and help fight for a breast-cancer-free world. WineStraws is dedicated to supporting all efforts in finding a cure for breast cancer. During the month of October, ten percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. If you aren’t already an activist here are some ways that you can learn how to fight, get the facts and support the efforts in finding a cure for breast cancer.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982. The world’s largest network of breast cancer survivors and activists, Susan G. Komen works to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Events such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® are great ways to show your support in the fight against cancer, but there are plenty of events and activities that you can do all month long.
The Pink Ribbon Challenge® is an annual National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) event that happens every October. During the month of October, supporters can participate by visiting their favorite radio station’s website, clicking on the Pink Ribbon banner which in turn helps raise funds to provide free mammograms for underserved women. The money raised is distributed by the National Breast Cancer Foundation to hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities coast to coast.
Participation is the key to educating the public, raising awareness and finding a cure….what will you be doing this October to fight against breast cancer? Think Pink!
